First snow of the Season

We got our first snow in Colorado! It was a perfect amount to get us started and used to having snow around. We got about 3" here in the foothills and the mountains got 8". It was a really awesome day to be home and just watch the snow fall outside. We had some fancy hot chocolate (used the Cafe Latte maker that Carrie bought for Chris last Christmas for the first time) and curled up on the couch and watched the movie Click. It was, we decided the perfect ending to a pefect day. As many of you know we walk our cat, Noelle. She is worse than a dog when it comes to begging to go outside. So we decided to let her out & see what happens. She was really funny at first, she couldn't figure out what was falling out of the sky. She didn't stay out long but she did end up taking a little walk in the snow. When she came in she was FRISKY! They sell these things here called Pawtectors to cover the animals feet. We're gonna get some for her since there is no deterring her evening walks. There are some other strange things we've noticed here that we will share with ya'll. There are lots & lots of prairie dogs. They are everywhere...cute little things, but weird. Also, people do not like to drive here. They complain when you have to go 20 minutes to get somewhere. They definately couldn't make it in TX where everything is spread out. On Columbus Day the Indians held a protest. They want to abolish Columbus Day all together. We've never heard that point of view before. Anyway, we are really enjoying getting to know the area and learning lots everyday. We went to REI (a huge sporting goods store) in Downtown Denver the other day to buy a helmet for Christopher's Birthday. He is very excited about going Mountain Biking before Winter sets in. It was a really cool store. They have a huge rock climbing wall inside and everything you could ever need if you were planning on being stranded in the snow covered mountains for months on end.
Carrie is still looking for a job, but has a 2nd interview on Thursday morning with the company she really wants to work for. Keep your fingers crossed! Well enjoy the snow pictures. Since there is another storm coming this weekend I'm sure we'll have even more. Maybe we'll have a snowman to show you soon! Take care everyone!
