Well, we didn't make it to Estes Park on Monday. It was raining and sleeting here which means the mountains were getting snow. We aren't exactly used to driving in that yet so we decided to try another day instead. Apparently the weather predictors here are the same as everywhere. They said we were supposed to have snow twice this week but NO SNOW ever came. We have had very cold weather though so we've been enjoying it a lot. We had what you might consider "soup" weather. We made chili and oatmeal butterscotch cookies all while still in our cozy p.j.'s. We went to a real live pumpkin farm on Wednesday. It was really awesome! We picked out 2 pumkins, a bale of hay and some gourds and Indian corn. We couldn't believe how cheap they all were. We'll post some pictures so you can see too. We took a drive up to Boulder yesterday. It was beautiful weather. Boulder is only 10 miles from us and is really a nice town. It's right at the bottom of the mountains and we could really see what they mean by Flat Irons, they actually stick out from the mountains. On our way home we decide that it had been long enough without Mexican food so we found 3 Margaritas. We looked at reviews online and people said that it was really good and more of a Tex Mex place. We went in very excited and came out very confused. Carrie ordered a chicken fajita stuffed burrito. There was more bell pepper in there than chicken. Even weirder than that: they serve all their entrees with beans, rice and.......
coleslaw! Yes coleslaw. So we asked the waiter "is it Mexican coleslaw?" and he looked at us like we had 3 heads and said "No, it's just regular coleslaw". We will keep searching for some "real" Mexican food.
Carrie is still on the job hunt and has two interviews Friday morning. Hopefully something good will come along soon. We hope you all have a great weekend and enjoy our pictures. Keep checking back for more updates! Love to all!
